Two more days to go before Valentine's Day emerges for the year 2009... It's the day where shop owners up the prices of chocolates, cards, flowers and other related memorabilia to double or even triple the normal price for people who are desperately in need to purchase them in order to show "love" to their loved ones.Restaurants will be having "dinner for two" promotions - embracing loving couples that will flock to their establishments for an unnecessarily expensive romantic dinner before settling down in the comfort of their bedrooms try to re-enact procreation with some form of finesse...
On this particular day, there will be a rise of amateur poetic scholars
- creating love poems; some made so tacky or horribly that even little kids would
vomit firsthand upon attempting to read the first line. Cellular network companies would be prospering though - because the length of these poems sent via
SMS would improve their earnings for having lovesick users spamming the network trying to convince their loved ones that their poetic side has upgraded substantially nearing Valentine's.Well I've no reason to complain for the sudden surge or manical affections of love that's going to happen in the next couple of days, I've been through it, I've been one of those people who were desperate to buy gifts for my loved ones (Later in life, I've smarten myself to buy gifts; weeks in advance before prices skyrocketted), been the romantic fool who wrote poems (yes, I write my own tacky poems) and eaten in fancy-enough restaurants and eating establishments forking the bill... all for the sake of commemorating the day where people use as an excuse to fall in love...
If you believe that needing a significant other is required to
celebrate this occasion, or the fact that you're stressed out because
you've got no partner to celebrate with, then you've probably got the
wrong mindset. Take a turn of thought to appreciate and love yourself
and your friends and hopefully such projection of love emits strong
enough to catch the eye of someone who indeed fancies you... unless of
course you rather stay indoors alone in front of the TV or DVD player.
Besides, drinking establishments are opening their doors for singles
patrons (both men and women) to drink, mingle around and who knows? You might find someone to
share kisses with if you're lucky enough!If you're one of those people who recently lost in the game of love, don't despair... its not the end of the world. Whoever that decided to leave are the ones to lose out on spending Valentine's day (regardless whether its you or them) - and there's so many single people out there who are probably in the same situation as you and are looking as well... the only thing you need to contemplate and settle is the fact that you have to start over... you have nothing to lose... but love to gain... besides if you're rejected, have the thought of reminding yourself that you've tried showering love to someone that's stupid enough to not want it.
So this Valentines Day, I wish you fellow readers the best... go meet people and spread the love!
